Where are the lifts made?

The majority of the North Americas largest lift manufactures build some if not all of their passenger car lifts in China. You would be surprised at the number of major brands that had been claiming to be made in the USA, were in fact built in China. The Liftsuperstore lifts include components from China, the USA and Canada. We have found that this provides the best value and quality. We do not compete with the importer selling a 100% Asian product with a non CSA approved power unit.

We can however offer you a more dependable longer lasting lift.

Is everything included I will need to install the lift?

The Liftsuperstore provides the anchor bolts and shim material with every lift. We cannot ship hydraulic oil because of environmental reasons however this is easily available local to where you live.

Are the lifts certified?

The only “certification” program currently available for vehicle lifts has been created by the 13 member lift manufacturers who support their own testing and standards regime. The government does not mediate this program and the reporting and ongoing policing of members adherence to their own standards is done within the lift manufactures institute. Members must have 75% of the lifts sold “certified”.
If this certification was as critical an issue as purported then why not 99% or 100%?
The Liftsuperstore offers lifts with their certification and lifts where we provide our own testing. It is our opinion that both are safe to use within the parameters sold. If you are not dealing directly a known supplier who is located in Canada this does offer some level of credibility. Expect to pay more for a “certified” lift.

Are the electrical power units approved for use in Canada?

All of our electrical power units are purchased from a USA manufacturer and are stamped CSA approved for use in Canada. The power units have been tested by ETL.

Does the lift have to be anchored to the floor?

We highly recommend that all two and four post lifts be anchored to a specified depth and strength of concrete. Although “caster wheels “are provided with all 4 post parking lifts it is still our professional  opinion that the level of safety required demands proper anchoring. We strongly disagree with lift suppliers who advise the customers in their own web site manuals that the lift does not have to be bolted. How is a lift certified and not anchored to the floor?

Are all the accessories included?

In all cases the Liftsuperstore strives to include all normally used accessories that would be required such as truck adapters. We also offer a complete selection of accessories that can expand the normal use of the lift. We have a policy of promoting products in a fair and accurate manner. Parking lifts come with drip trays, a jack plate and caster wheels 99.9% of the time. By advertising these along with truck adapters and mounting hardware as “Free” you are simply being deceived.

Can I use the lift outside?

The lifts are powder coated and most other components are plated. The cable and pulleys would need to be lubricated often and the all electrical components would have to be protected against moisture. In most cases it is not recommended unless the lift is out of the basic weather elements.

What lift is recommended for the trucks that I have?

What makes a good car lift does not transfer over to many of the larger extended cab style pickups. The ideal car lift has a lowered arm pad height lower than 4”. Although the overall capacity of the lift may be well within the unloaded weight of your truck, the arm reach required and weight distribution will require a heavier lift. There are lifts available in the 11,000 lb category that has been designed to accommodate both applications well.

Does the warranty still apply if the customer installs his own lift?

Yes, as long it is correctly installed and maintained you are covered for 2 years against defects in workmanship and material.

How much space do I require?

This is a great question we get asked 50 times a day. Most two post lifts require 12’ of ceiling height to lift most vehicles to full height. Our standard 2 post overhead lifts are 141.5” in height. If you have less than 12’ but you do have 10’, the 2 post “base plate” style or the parking lift will get your vehicle to full height. If you are storing 2 cars you will need a minimum of – the height of the two cars plus 8” ... MINIMUM.
